Ways To Avoid Costly Data Recovery

A computer or its hard drive can fail at any time and without warning. When it does, all your documents, letters, pictures, music, and videos are lost or may cost lots of money to be recovered. Make sure you have backups of all your important data in case your computer fails.

Protect Your Computer

Make sure to protect your computer from electrical surges, brownouts, and blackouts. At the very least, every computer user should have a decent surge protector on their computer and phone line if they use a modem. Surge protectors help protect your computer during an electrical storm and could save you hundreds of dollars in repair costs if it were to get damaged. Also, having computers on a UPS (uninterruptible power supply) prevents damage to a computer during a brownout or blackout.

Keep safe from viruses, spyware, phishing, and spam

Every computer connected to the Internet or other networks needs to be protected from viruses. We recommend having some form of antivirus program installed and running on the computer. It’s also a good idea to have a malware detection program to pickup any spyware or malware that antivirus may not detect. Finally, every computer user should also be fully aware of other security risks such as chain mails, phishing, and spam while on the Internet.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long will my repair/service take?

We repair most faults within 1-3 days, subject to the availability of parts if needed. If we need to order parts then we can normally get these within a week. We realize how difficult being without your computer can be and we will always try to get it back to you as quickly as possible.

How much will my repair cost me?

We will always give a flat rate for the repair if you aren’t a business. This means if your computer is fixed within the hour it will only be $50, but if it takes longer, even days, it will only be $100 total (if done inside our office).  This is per device and parts cost extra of course if needed. There is no charge to diagnose the fault.  We don’t want you to have any nasty surprises; we want you to know exactly what your repair will cost before we complete the work.

Why would I want to use you when I could go to a big shop front repairer?

As we work out of a backyard office, there is very little overhead so we bring the savings back to you.  We also provide a professional one-on-one atmosphere, where you aren’t just a customer number; a real relationship is formed.  You will find our prices are very competitive, both in labour and parts if required.  With all the experience I have, there is no job I cannot do.

Can you replace cracked/damaged laptop screens?

Absolutely, we repair laptop screens all the time and it’s much cheaper than buying a new laptop. Contact Us for a quick quote

I’m worried about my data, is it safe?

We will always take great care in looking after your data. We conform to The Privacy Act 1988 (Privacy Act) and any data we hold is held in strict confidence. We undertake work for a number of businesses including and understand how important personal data is. Any customer data that is stored is always stored in an encrypted format. We always advise if possible you take a backup of any data on your computer prior to any work being undertaken and we can discuss any backup options with you if needed.  We are happy to organize a confidentiality and privacy deed with both parties to sign if requested.
